The women just enjoyed an exciting victory over the Lady Hornets. Hope to see the same in the men's game!

The place is PACKED and ROCKIN! So many UMES fans drove up from Princess Anne, which is great to see! The Diamonds, Cheerleaders and Hollarin' Hawks are in attendance as well... makes for a great game day atmosphere.

I was a little late... but the cheerleaders welcoming the men's team to the court.

GAME DAY! UMES @ Delaware State

It's GAME DAY! And I'm excited! Tonight's game is huge... a win would be tremendous.

I had to ride up on the early bus with the women's team, so I'll miss the bus ride with the men. I can only imagine how focused and ready they are for this rivalry game. I know they've been thoroughly prepped and are prepared to take on the Hornets.

It's that time of year again, what every college basketball player lives for... March Madness. It's considered crunch time and it's the part of the season when freshmen play like sophomores, sophomores play like juniors, juniors play like seniors and seniors play like pros.

Today is the last day of preparation for the Delaware State game tomorrow night. We had three good days of practice and one much needed day off to rest our legs and use the day to get caught up with academics. I know as a team we are amped up for tomorrow's game in Dover.

As a team, we have been mentally in tune and focused on getting ready for the big game tomorrow. This is probably one of the biggest games this year because Delaware State is not only our rival, but this is the last game to determine seeding for the MEAC Tournament. It would also mean another sweep in the MEAC, after we defeated them earlier this season at home.

If we receive a four or five seed, we will have a first round bye and continue to make history this season at UMES.

I know I can speak for both the team and myself when I say that we hope to see you all in Dover Thursday night. Be sure to bring your maroon and gray and HAWK PRIDE! Trust me, it's going to be another exciting game to watch.

MEAC Seedings?

Yesterday afternoon, Coach Robinson and myself spent a few hours trying to figure out all the different scenarios for MEAC tournament seedings. Definitely was an interesting experience that I've tried before, but not at the same magnitude. We spread out in the conference room and probably wore out the whiteboard markers with the million different ways that we can get different seeds.

With the results of Monday night's games a few of the scenarios were taken away, but as of right now we can get anywhere from a 4 seed to a 7 seed. As far as I'm concerned, the destiny is in our own hands and with a win we clinch either the 4 or 5 seed. We will see after Thursday's game at Delaware State!
